About CleftInject™
A non-profit organisation on a mission to connect adults born with cleft lip to specialist dermal filler practitioners who truly understand their anatomy.
Our Story
CleftInject™ was created to address a problem that most people don't know exists: adults born with cleft lip who had corrective surgery as babies often still live with asymmetry, scarring, and confidence concerns — yet struggle to find anyone who can help.
Cleft lip anatomy is not covered in standard aesthetic training. The injection technique required is entirely different from what is taught on a typical filler course. As a result, many patients are turned away by practitioners who simply don't have the knowledge to treat them safely or effectively. Others are treated like a standard lip filler patient, which does not work because of the scar tissue, structural differences, and unique anatomy involved.
CleftInject™ exists to change that. We created both a specialist training programme for practitioners and a verified directory so that patients can finally find someone who understands their anatomy and can deliver safe, effective treatment.
Our Mission
CleftInject™ is a non-profit organisation with a simple mission: to ensure that every adult born with cleft lip has access to specialist dermal filler practitioners who have been specifically trained to understand and treat cleft lip anatomy.
We believe that no one should be turned away or treated inappropriately because their anatomy doesn't fit the standard textbook. Through our training programme and specialist directory, we are building a worldwide network of verified practitioners dedicated to serving the cleft lip community.
Our Values
Accessibility
Specialist treatment should be available to everyone who needs it, regardless of where they live. We are working to expand our directory worldwide.
Specialist Care
Every practitioner in our directory has completed the CleftInject™ training programme. We verify qualifications so patients can trust who they find here.
Community
We are building a supportive community where patients feel understood and practitioners are equipped with the specialist knowledge to help.
Meet the Founder
CleftInject™ was founded by Lindsay Owens, the creator of the CleftInject™ technique. Lindsay is a Level 7 injector with over 8 years of clinical aesthetics experience and 5 years specialising in lip and reconstructive treatments.
After seeing first-hand how many adults born with cleft lip were being turned away or poorly treated by standard practitioners, Lindsay developed a specialist injection technique designed specifically for cleft lip anatomy. The approach works with scar tissue and structural differences rather than against them, delivering results that standard filler techniques simply cannot achieve.
Recognising that she could not treat every patient alone, Lindsay created the CleftInject™ training programme to share this specialist knowledge with other practitioners — and built CleftInject.org as a free, verified directory so that patients everywhere can find trained specialists near them.
How CleftInject™ Works
Practitioners Complete Training
Qualified aesthetic practitioners enrol in the CleftInject™ training programme, where they learn the specialist anatomy, injection technique, and patient management skills needed to treat cleft lip patients.
Verification & Directory Listing
Once training is complete, practitioners are verified and listed in the CleftInject™ directory with a Certified badge, so patients know they have been specifically trained.
Patients Find Specialists
Adults born with cleft lip search the directory by location to find a verified specialist near them — no account needed, completely free to browse.
A Non-Profit Organisation
CleftInject™ is a non-profit organisation. Our directory is free for patients to use, and our mission is driven by the belief that specialist care should be accessible to everyone who needs it. We are not a commercial clinic — we exist to connect patients with trained practitioners and to grow the number of specialists available worldwide.
